Ceramics and pottery by Granit have been produced from 1923 till somewhere around the year 2000 in Kispest, a district of Hungary’s capital Budapest. The glory years for the factory seem to have been the 1950’s and the 1960’s. To learn more about how Granit came to be, please visit our History page.

Even though the glory production years of the Granit porcelain are over, the factory is still standing. The Granit porcelain factory was (and is still) located at the following address:

Hungary, 1194 Budapest, Fadrusz János utca 2.
1701 Budapest, Pf. 248.

Click here to view the location on Google Maps. If you use Google Earth in 3D, you can get a general idea of what the factory looks like and how big it is. The plant is still in use for the production of the emery wheels. We do not think the factory is open for sightseeing, but it seems possible to walk around the property. The building you see on the picture on the right/left is the enterance that is situated on the side of the traintracks.
